Happy New Year from the Morehouses! |
We were planning to wish you a Merry Christmas first, but time has slipped by and we’re already into 2006! Can you believe it?
2005 was good to us, and we’re hoping to build on God’s blessings in our lives in the year to come. As we grow older, we become more and more grateful for His mercy, forgiveness, grace and favor.
We’re
delighted to have Sarah
living and working in Rochester again after spending 3 years
overseas completing her Masters in Design in Milan. She’s prospering in her
work in graphic design as an art director in her current job in Rochester. Her
circle of friends continues to grow along with her gifts of hospitality.
Nathan
got
married
this September to a wonderful young woman he met in graduate school at Arizona
State University in Tempe. Now we have a new daughter!
Kari just
completed her Masters in Environmental Biology and is working full-time on the
nearby Salt
River Pima-Maricopa Indian
reservation while Nate completes his PhD in Biology (you know it has to do with
bugs). Both families gathered with friends for an unforgettable wedding in
Texas.
Johanna
is enthusiastically pursuing her Masters in Art Therapy at Nazareth
College and living at home while raising her delightful daughter Zoya,
now 2½ years old and full of life, as her name would suggest. Needless to say,
Nana and Grampy (that’s Susan and me) are having lots of fun, too.
Joel
graduated from Roberts Wesleyan College this year with a double major in
Music and History. During his last year he “picked up” the organ and has
taken off with sacred music, working this summer as a music director at St.
Jude’s parish. He’s just begun a second degree program, having received a
full scholarship to study the classics at Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula,
California. Yes, that’s a long way from here…
Being
a family with all four offspring now
grown and heading in adult directions in their lives is a bit like a multi-ring
circus. Something is always happening somewhere else, so we were blessed beyond
measure to have everyone home for a long Christmas weekend. We even got to ski
into our cabin on the 23rd and see Narnia together at the theater on
the 26th!
Susan
and I
are
learning to mature gracefully as parents, grandparents, and members of
Christ’s Body. Susan loves to practice, teach and play her harp out in the
community, and I love to practice, teach and play my medicine similarly. We’re
a team in our neighborhood, church and with professional colleagues, both
students and peers. And we still love to get out in nature hiking, canoeing,
skiing and just being in God’s Creation.
We
value our friendship with you and
appreciate all the emails and even cards and letters we’ve received this year.
Thanks for keeping in touch. You’re in our prayers for a blessed New
Year!
