• Emigration: as a Puritan passenger on board the "Mathew", May 21, 1635, London, Middlesex, England. The ship sailed under warrant from the Earl of Carlisle, Richard Goodlade, master.
• Land, After Sep 1639, Fairfield, Fairfield, CT. He was part of the first group of settlers that came in with Roger Ludlow, after he had received permission to settle in Fairfield in Sep 1639 from the General Court at Hartfore. The group included John Green, Thomas Staples, Thomas Newton, Edward Jessop, and Edmund Stickland. Others, mostly from Watertown, MA, followed. John Barlow's homelot was situated with those of Roger Ludlow, Thomas Staples, Thomas Newton, and Robert Haskins in the so-called Ludlow Square, immediately beside Roger Ludlow's homelot on Ludlow Avenue (now called the Old Post Road in today's Fairfield).
• Land: Homelot sold to Thomas Morehouse, Bef 1653, Fairfield, Fairfield, CT.
• Will, Mar 8, 1674, Fairfield, Fairfield, CT. Inventory of his estate was taken on 9 June 1674 by George Squire, Sr., Richard Ogden, and John Burr, and the will was proved on 3 Nov 1674 at Fairfield.
John married Ann Ward, daughter of Richard Ward and Ann Sunnerville, in 1620 in England. (Ann Ward was born in 1604 in England and died about 1684 in Fairfield, Fairfield, CT.)
